Massage can be used as part of maintenance care for horses in no/light work all the way up to horse competing at the highest level and as a preventative measure to help treat any underlying muscular discomfort. Massage can also be beneficial in the rehabilitation of injuries, poor performance or musculoskeletal problems.

Sports and Rehabilitation treatments including therapeutic additional services are £40 per session.

Yard visits for three or more horse on the same day will be eligible for a 10% discount on each horse.

Sports Massage

Full sports massage including

  • Movement assessment.

  • Conformational assessment

  • Full massage.

  • Stretching.

  • Muscle activation.

  • Follow up exercises and advice.

Rehabilitation Massage

This style is tailored to the horse if they have:

  • A specific injury.

  • Loss of performance.

  • Musculoskeletal problems.

This massage will be cover the entire horse, but the main focus will be placed on the ​problem areas. 

* Veterinary Consent must be given prior to rehabilitation massage in accordance with the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 *

Maintenance Massage

This type of massage is designed to be used regularly for horses in work. Regular maintenance sessions can help to identify and prevent injuries.

Relaxation Massage

This style of massage is targeted at:

  • 'Stressy' or tense horses.

  • Good for introducing massage to young horses.

  • Horses on box rest.

Pre and Post Competition Massage

These massages are targeted at horses competing in any discipline prior to competition to assist with reaching their full potential on competition day and post competition to aid in the recovery of the horse's muscles and locate any areas of concern.

Sports and Rehabilitation Massage, is not a substitute for veterinary intervention. 

In accordance to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, veterinary consent is not needed for maintenance massage on a healthy animal. 

Any horse displaying lameness or significant abnormalities will not be treated and veterinary intervention recommended. 

Your veterinarian must be your first point of contact for any major concerns.
